4Food
286 Madison Ave.
(Corner of 40th Street)
New York, NY 10017
Recently opened 4Food is a sharp contrast to their McDonald neighbors across the street. Staying true to their mission of de-junking fast food, 4food is making the traditional burger holey. With salmon, turkey, and egg as burger options, these (W)holeburgers can be filled with a variety of different veggies scoops such as spinach and pine nut, avocado mango chili, or edamame and sea salt.
Pick from the menu or create your own meal: you can order from an iPad or walk right up to a server. With choices like pancetta, a healthier version of bacon, or Square Roots: a mix of Idaho, sweet, and purple potatoes boiled that are seasoned and baked, 4Food has all the health options covered. Pick a tea, a homemade soda, or smoothie to go with your meal.
4food’s tri-leveled space is tech friendly. Their digital menus rotate giving you a wide variety of options to help you plan your meal. The twenty-foot screen on the wall displays pick-up orders, a twitter feed, and flashing media. Wi-Fi keys are printed on your receipt and multiple, conveniently placed outlets line the eating areas. Alone or in the company of friends, 4Food is a must visit by Grand Central.
