YNY’s Video Pick of the Week

Back in 2008, Nokia (remember them?) appealed to the inner Karate Kid in their consumer and released a special edition phone valued at $1,200. 25 years after the death of Bruce Lee, Nokia released the Nokia N96 Bruce Lee limited edition phone. The phone came with cool accessories such as a Bruce Lee doll and rarely seen photographs already installed on the phone. A little expensive, even by iPhone standards, Nokia released this commercial for their pricey phone. Although this is not actual footage of the Martial Arts legend, this video was chosen for obvious cool factors that special effects just can’t seem to subsitute nowadays.

Sneaker Con NYC 2011 Video

If you missed out on Sneaker Con 2011 appearance in New York, no worries, we captured it on tape for you to see. Last Saturday Sneaker Con NYC 2011 gave sneaker obsessors a chance to buy/sell/trade sneakers right here in Soho. The line started hours before the event and went down Sullivan Street, along Houston Street, and turned halfway down Thompson Street during the event. That’s three blocks long and hours of waiting just to get in. If you were lucky enough to make your way in, you had to squeeze your way past hungry sneaker fiends and collectors with book bags and duffle bags loaded with exclusive kicks. Vendors sold sneakers, apparel, sneaker accessories, and one vendor was airbrushing hats and t-shirts. Special shout out to Sneaker News and International-hiphop.com for showing some love in the video. Now go check it out!

YNY VLOG: Club Etiquette

The New York nightlife can be addicting. The crowds, loud music, dance battles, cheap drinks, and so many venues to visit draw in the crowds all throughout the week. There is, however, something that seems to be lacking in the night clubs. Michelle and Ashley break down different scenarios that New Yorkers need to be readjusted on. Things such as letting someone buy you a drink and having a companion you just can’t shake the rest of the night. Or when you go to the dance floor and your nostrils begin to burn because someone forgot to put on deodorant along with perfume/cologne before they left the house. There are only some but not all of the rules people should follow when we are all having a good night on out on the town. Be sure to leave your own night life etiquette rules as a comment below.

YNY MOS: Best Way to Handle Subway Oddities

Everyone has seen that person on the train that can hold a conversation with themselves loud enough for the entire train car to hear. You know the type of person you just might want to leave alone. Yeah New York asked New Yorkers for their advice on what to do if they see someone on the train that may turn out to be a problem.

YNY MOS: Is New York Ready for Spring?

It seems like Mother Nature can’t quite make up her mind. The fluctuating temperatures have some New Yorkers wearing skirts in 30 degree weather and winter wool coats on a sunny 65 degree day. The groundhog saw his shadow so it should mean Spring is due to come early, right? Well after being attacked by eight snowstorms this winter, Yeah New York dove into the streets of Times Square to ask, “Are you ready for Spring?”
