In the Time of the Butterflies
Julia Alvarez’s novel, In the Time of the Butterflies, is now a play and is being directed by Caridad Svich. Also named, In the Time of the Butterflies, the play is about three sisters living in the Dominican Republic during the regime of Gen. Rafael Leónidas Trujillo. The “Our Future Is In The Air” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met) features photographs from the 1910s.
